The first time that we held you,
Looked in your tiny face;
We weren't thinking of this day,
Filled with ribbons, pearls and lace.

All we saw was a babe in our arms,
So helpless, small and sweet;
We knew that God had blessed us,
And made our lives complete.

We watched you as you grew so fast,
From a baby to a child.
Now that child has grown up,
That we walked with so many miles.

We watched you as you fell in love,
With the one who loves you so;
And knew as Mother and Father,
We would have to let you go.

Now here we are on your wedding day,
Walking through this new chapter in life;
We give you a parent's blessing,
As you become man and wife.
