~~ Back Against the Wall ~~

When your back’s against the wall;
And you have nowhere to go,
You know what you should do,
But your head is sinking low.

Fear has you in its grip.
Hopeless, seems to be your plight.
Let me tell you, if I may,
Don’t give up… begin to fight.

There’s a power that’s within you.
There’s more strength than you’re aware.
There’s a God, who truly loves you.
Cast upon Him, all your cares.

There is nothing, He can’t handle;
There is nothing, great or small,
That he won’t help you conquer
If only you will call.

Count the battle as a victory
For, it was already won;
And it’s yours for the taking,
Just remember Christ, God’s Son.

So lift the head that’s hanging.
Let your tears now subside.
Knowing full-well you are covered,
And in God you must abide.

~~ Child In Me ~~

Once again I’d like to run across an open field
Wade water streams, just day dream
or slip down to the mill.

I’d like to fish with old cane poles
Just like I did at three
Guess all of this I’d have to say
Is just the child in me.

I’d give up much for just one day
Reclaiming fun and sun
Summer camps, so much glee
That’s just the child in me.

Broken windows, Oh my…
Yes the ball that missed its target
That’s one day I was thankful…
Mom was at the super market!

Memories of yesteryear
Some should have been forgotten
Others I’ll just have to keep
'Cuz that’s most assuredly

THE ULTIMATE, “CHILD IN ME.”

~~ The Passage ~~

You've crossed the line of childhood
Your future now unfolds
As God reveals His plans for you
Just let Him take control.

He'll fill you with His power
All doubts will soon grow dim
He'll open doors day by day
Just trust and follow Him.

A you read the Word of God
Your mind will be renewed
You'll walk and talk like Jesus
Each day He'll see you through

His abundant love and mercy
Is available for all
Whisper the name of Jesus
He'll answer every call

What a glorious passage
A time to be a light
Don't hide it under a bushel
Rise up let your wings take flight.

~~ Father’s Love ~~

Oh, what blessed joy in knowing,
Unconditional love so sweet,
When in sorrow, I go longing,
Just to sit at Father’s feet.

As I seek, I find compassion,
For, He knows my every care.
Pouring out His wondrous mercy,
I can always find Him there.

In His presence, peace surrounds me.
Abundant grace He freely gives.
Working out His glorious life-plans,
In His child, each day, he lives.

Father’s love is like no other,
No one else could take His place.
He has taught us how to live life,
Thank you, Father, for this day.

~~ Around The Bend ~~

Life offers many things to see,
So much more to do,
Adventures yet to be taken,
Some, I’ve followed through.

Life choices wait around the bend,
That only I can make;
Some are made quite easily,
Others made too late.

The beauty of it all, you see,
Although we make mistakes,
We live and learn from each one;
To this you may relate.

Keep looking forward… don’t look back.
Yesterday has met her end.
New life-experiences wait for you,
Just around the bend.

~~ A Place Called ‘Solitude’ ~~

Tucked away quite privately
Among the stately pines
Stands a Chapel near a lake
Awe-inspired design.

Seeking restful solitude
From cares and trials of life
O' such joy and comfort there
As a bride groom….to his wife.

Reflections in the waters deep
Dance across each wave.
Stained-glass windows cast their glow
A rainbow jewel inlaid.

Butterflies rest from flight
On flowers red and yellow
Watching feedings of nectar sweet
Leaves all senses mellowed.

Eagles soar on wings outspread
Hunters of the sky
Seeking food for their young
On skills they must rely.

Once inside the chapel doors
Praise upon our lips
Grateful hearts lift songs to God
For all His splendid gifts.

A place called ‘Solitude’ indeed
No other name could be
For by His Grace, He brought us here
All fears He has relieved.

~~ The Secret Place ~~

I have a secret place I like to go each day.
When the day is filled with cares, I often slip away.

The solitude I yearn for way down deep inside,
I find when I take time to go all cares will soon subside.

I love my secret place it affords to me some time,
To still my heart; be renewed, my thoughts to organize.

You too need a place that you can be alone,
To be refreshed; hear your heart, or sing a cheerful song.

A spirit lift of sorts, it moves me through each day.
As the sun begins to set, I quietly kneel to pray.

I thank the Lord for time well spent, and for showing me this place.
I can be alone with him....how I thank him for his Grace.

~~ Weary and Worn ~~

Are you weary and worn from the task now at hand?
Do you wake in the morning uncertain you’ll stand?

Look up toward heaven, relinquish your will.
Hear God speak to your heart, let peace be still.

Put trust in the Lord, to give strength for the day,
A hope for tomorrow, He’ll show you the way.

When mountains appear, impossible to climb,
Remember He’s with you, you’ll succeed in time.

Confessing Gods Word, renews faith in your heart,
Truth shall prevail, fresh fire He’ll impart.

For you see, it’s your faith that is facing the test,
He’s done His part, now you do the rest.
