As we gather together
With those who live near and far,
I thank God for keeping them
safe and protecting them as
They travelled to our house by car.
As we sit at the table and say a blessing for
the turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie
And for that cross on which Christ died ...
Let us reflect on the lost, lonely, and
Those that don't have much.
Did we give them love,
Spiritual blessings, or a kind touch?
Are we thankful for the things Jesus gave
And all that He did bestow?
My heart is grateful that He came
And raised me from doubt, fear,
Unworthiness, and for feeling low.
I want to raise my hands and say "Amen",
Giving to glory to the Father, up above;
Praising Him for His mercy and His love.
Don't it make you happy when
You're thinking about what's in store
Oh, if you've been born again,
Thinking about that glory land forever more?
When I woke up this morning,
I got to thinking how good God is,
As I got down to pray.
Then, I began to thank Him for this,
Our special "Thanksgiving Day".
